I’ve already told you about my passion for Mexican cuisine, and I know I’ll sound repetitive, but: I love Mexican food! Two weekends ago, when weather was freezing, we wanted to go out for lunch. But unlike what we always do, which is eating somewhere in our neighborhood, we decided to go to some other different region. Then I remembered a recommendation from a friend about a a Mexican restaurant in Brooklyn, Rocco’s. I remember that I loved the place by the photos and then we went to Brooklyn to check it out.
Rocco’s Tacos & Tequila Bar is a huge restaurant – I was impressed by the size of the place, which has two floors. Undoubtedly, what most got your attention is the decoration. Everything was planned in the smallest details. From the super funny wall at the entrance, through the skull illustration on the way to the lower floor, the chandeliers, the choice of pictures … the bathrooms have televisions (and exchanger for those who frequent the place with babies). By the way, it’s a family-friendly restaurant: I’ve seen a lot of families there!
As we arrived late – around 4pm – they were already serving the dinner menu, which has slightly higher prices than lunch menu. In fact, the two menus are the same, the prices change. The options include several typical Mexican dishes, such as tacos, nachos, quesadillas, burritos and fajitas. Appetizers cost from $ 5 to $ 16, burritos cost $ 15, quesadillas from $ 13, tacos from $ 4.50 each – these are the values of the lunch menu, just to give you an idea of prices. Drinks like Margaritas and Mojitos cost from $ 10, beers starting at $ 5.25 and wines from $ 7.50. Click here to see the full menu.
One of the things we always order when we go to a Mexican restaurant is guacamole. The portion of Rocco’s is generous and delicious. They bring a cart to the table and prepare the guacamole in front of you. I would say that the guacamole serves four people – and costs $ 13. We also ordered a beef burrito and The Korean tacos (portion with three). We shared everything and we still took food home. Only the burrito and the guacamole would have been enough for both of us. All dishes were delicious – especially the burrito (it’s one of my favorite dishes in Mexican cuisine) and it was mega stuffed. Remember that during brunch, on weekends, when ordering a dish, you can pay $ 13 and drink endless Mimosa or Bloody Mary.
I really enjoyed Rocco’s! The service was great, the food was delicious and the atmosphere is really amazing!
