Many people enjoys to know crafts stores and related shops while traveling, and I think that Michael’s is the right destination in New York for those who like to put creativity into practice. Even if you are not the person who most understand about decor or do not have many manual skills, you will certainly be charmed by the place and find ready-made objects and other artifacts that can help improve your home, organization, decoration, etc. The store has a full stock of supplies for crafts, as well as frames, decor, seasonal products – yes, all those trinkets for dates such as Christmas, Easter and Halloween.
The store has several categories, which make it very easy to find what you want. In Manhattan, there are two shops and one of them is very well located, in the Flatiron. I was there and photographed some of the products for you to have a brief idea of store stock. This unit Flatiron is underground and is super wide! There is free Wi-Fi, plus carts / baskets to facilitate purchases.
The area of frames is vast, with big and small options. Those who likes painting will find a variety of brushes, canvases and paints. At the scrapbooking area, many decorated sheets and adhesives. There are also sketchbooks for those working in fashion and architecture. The bakery section is very interesting, with forms cake in various formats and multiple items for decoration – not to mention the utensils for cupcakes! As I mentioned earlier, the store is the right place for special occasions decoration and now the emphasis is on various items for Easter. There are even flowers for arrangements, threads for knitting and crochet, special section for children and many decorative boxes and also a section of accessories and tools to assemble jewelry.
To complete, look what I found on my last visit to the store: Michael’s offers several classes for those who want to learn more craft techniques such as painting, drawing, flower arrangements, crochê, knitting, confectionery and more! Oh, many of these classes are free and there are also options for kids and family. To check out more about the classes, click here. And if you want to have a greater idea of the stock of store products, just browse the website.
Michael’s has two locations in Manhattan: 675 Avenue of the Americas / 808 Columbus Ave.
