Calling all the geeks! If you’re traveling to New York and want to explore places that appeal to technology, the good news is that the city has several cool spots. Whether they are paid or free attractions, you can make a very interesting itinerary and explore everything that is new in this area. I have separated some places below:
Samsung 837 – did you know that Samsung has a greater store and one of the coolest spots in Manhattan? In the heart of the Meatpacking District, next to the Chelsea Market and the High Line, Samsung has opened its first spot in Manhattan. Samsung 837, as it is called, is classified as a “digital playground.” There, you can experience all of the latest brand launches, hold meetings at your desks, have coffee with the famous Smorgasburg curator and even enjoy a sound while one of the resident DJs commands the live playlist. The most incredible? There is any product for sale. That’s not the point. Don’t expect a boring salesman asking you questions at any time. Samsung wants – and hopes – that those who visit get to know and experience the brand a little more.

What #PSVR game do you want to play at #SonySquareNYC?

Sony Square – Sony Square NYC is a showplace for the latest in Sony entertainment and technology, and throughout the year Sony brings in new, exciting, interactive exhibits allowing you to play with a variety of technology and try something new each time you visit. The space changes every six weeks. It is not a store. You can not buy products there. The idea is to really promote products and give people the opportunity to get to know and test everything up close. On the website, you can keep track of the current exhibitions. In addition, Sony Square also hosts free events – and you can check the calendar online as well. Overall, the place is not huge, but since it is in a central and easily accessible area, Flatiron, it can be an excellent program for those who enjoy technology.
Address: 25 Madison Avenue. Check out a post about the place.
Nintendo – The store, needless to say, is a den of everything related to the brand world. Video games, merchandise, clothing, accessories, dolls, arts. There are two floors filled with memories and fun. Scattered throughout the store there are various relics such as replicas of the Master Sowrd (The Legend of Zelda), giant statues of the characters and even a timeline listing all Nintendo-launched devices.
Address: 10 Rockefeller Plaza. Check out a post about the place.
VR World – Think of an amusement park indoor, when you barely move yourself to enjoy the attractions, neither get wet or anything. That’s how I can summarize VR World. It is the largest Virtual Reality entertainment center in the Western Hemisphere. VR World is the first permanent high street venue independent from any event or festival offering to the public Virtual Reality games and content all year-round in a uniquely designed space. VR World has more than 50 experiences in virtual reality in two floors! There are fighting games, races, experiences for kids and even a The Walking Dead game! Each experience lasts 5 to 10 minutes. Visitors should be at least 7 years old – I also think it is important to say that it is good to have an understanding of English to get the instructions. You can buy your ticket ONLINE or at the place.
Address: 4 East 34 Street. Check out a post about the place.
