4 different stores to buy fragrances in New York City

When we talk about to travel abroad, the item that is on the shopping list of many people is fragrance. I’ve written a post on the blog suggesting cool stores to buy fragrances in New York – the classic and famous brands. But if you enjoy new shopping experiences, new brands – and new smells – you may like to check out this list of perfume stores with different proposals.

Aedes de Venustas – a luxurious fragrance shop, with a certain air of mystery. To enter the shop, which is in the West Village, you need to ring a bell, which gives a sense of uniqueness to the site. The curator is nothing obvious, and includes more than 40 fragrances from brands difficult to find, such as Ambra di Venezia, Amouage, Byredo, Memo Paris, Shalini and to Ladurée. In addition to the sophisticated decor that makes the place even more interesting, you can count on the expertise of the attendants to find the best fragrance for you. Plus the complete mix of different scents, there are still a variety of scented candles.

Address: 9 Christopher Street.

Le Labo – It’s that kind of store for those who enjoy something super unique. For starters, the brand has only 35 stores/kiosks around the world – and the first was opened in 2006 in New York. Each place is designed as a perfume laboratory, open to the public, where the brand offers the possibility to the customer smell and touch raw materials in order to awaken the sense of smell. Its main focus is the perfume handmade. This means the concentrated essential oil remains separated from the alcohol to the point of purchase. The mix is made at the time that you buy it and it ensures that you take home a much fresher product. There are 14 fragrances available in stores that also have scented candles, body lotion, among others. The products have higher prices – but there’s a whole question of concept involved.

Address: 233 Elizabeth Street / 14 W. 29th Street / 22 E 65th Street.

Hèrmes Parfumerie – In August 2015, Hèrmes, which has 178 years of activity and is one of the most luxurious brands in the world, opened its first perfumery in the financial district of New York, at Brookfield Place, city’s new shopping destination, near One World Trade Center. With neutral tones in concrete, wood and leather, the store has the entire mix of branded perfumes and other products. The line Le Bain – body, bath and hair – as well as the Le Parfum collection of La Maison-Céline are displayed next to chairs, sofas and seats manufactured by French designer Ramy Fischler. The sensory experience is enhanced by projections in the store, which simulate the illusion of a “concrete jungle” filled with plants, trees and flowers. It is certainly a different experience even for non perfume fan.

Address: 200 Vesey Street.

Twisted Lily Apothecarie – Located in Brooklyn, Twisted Lily is a boutique that offers niche natural fragrances from around the world. Furthermore, the location offers other cosmetics such as skincare. The store has decor and design that provide a comfortable atmosphere for the client. With a mix that includes everything from Eau De Parfum and Eau De Toilette until Parfum Extraits, you can choose between various groups of perfume and fragrance notes. Brands like Comme Des Garçons, Blocki, L’Artisan Parfumeur and Monsillage are some of the options available. On the skincare, the small selection includes names like In Fiore and Schaf. Makeup section is restricted to Rouge Bunny Rouge Cosmetics brand products, the packaging of which are beautiful and products of quality. Keep an eye on Loose Glitter Pigments and Devilish Nectar Lip Potion. The primer is also super recommended.

Address: 360 Atlantic Avenue.
