After we have been at Asiate, Mandarin Oriental restaurant – whose experience I wrote about here on the blog – we ended up discovering another restaurant with a view, in the same area and we decided to check it out. The restaurant is Robert, located inside the Museum of Arts and Design with an incredible view. We were there on a Saturday for brunch, and we really enjoyed the experience, so I want to share the tip with you here on the blog!
Robert is a restaurant focused on American cuisine and open for lunch, dinner, and brunch. It is located on the ninth floor of the Museum of Arts and Design, in Columbus Circle. Its view overlooks the Columbus Circle area and also Central Park. It’s beautiful! In addition, the decor has a very modern footprint, with purple chairs. It’s worth remembering that you do not have to buy a ticket for the museum to go to the restaurant – just walk up the elevator to the ninth floor.
On the brunch menu, there are traditional dishes, such as omelets and pancakes, with prices ranging from $19 to $29. There are also sandwiches between $18 and $21 and a selection of pasta and risotto – which was our choice. I got the Risotto Croquette – which is basically a risotto inside a crunchy crust $26 – and Thiago got the Black Truffle Tortellini. The food was very tasty – and all the dishes we saw on the other tables were very appetizing. The restaurant also provides a complimentary basket of bread and butter. The lunch menu (Monday through Friday) offers options starting at $18. In the evening, at dinner, the options start at $23. I suggest clicking here and check all the menus.
We made a reservation a week before – and I put on the note that I would like a table by the window, however, we ended up staying at a table next to the window (before I left, I managed to do some photos). The hostess advised that we need to make a reservation a month in advance to secure a table by the window. Reservations can be made by the website.
Anyway, our experience was great! Loved the food, the environment, the service, the view. It’s one more of those great places for anyone who wants to do something special in New York!
Address: 2 Columbus Cir.
