The Uncommons in New York City: for those who love board games

I was watching a friend’s Insta Stories some days ago, and as a curious person, I went to check the location of the place she tagged. It was The Uncommons, Manhattan’s first cafe dedicated to board games. Well, we are living in an era of Candy Crush and super advanced video games, and it’s interesting to realize that board games still stand, right? I do not know about you guys, but I’m from the board games season. My sister and I dreamed of the games advertised in the television advertisements. We play the most trendy games to even the most classic. It was so much fun! Discovering this place in New York has brought me great memories. Well, I quickly asked my friend Veridiana to get more info about the place and she sent me more information. Blogger’s friend!

The Uncommons is a board game cafe,  with seating for up to 65 people, with a private party room and plenty of food and drink – they have beers! The place has 1,400 board games – being one of the largest gaming libraries on the east coast of the USA. During the week, the spot is used more like a coffee place – people usually use the space to work. The place is crowded on weekends when people go to the place to play! The price is great: $5 per person, per hour, or $10 per person for up to 3 hours. The selection includes classic games like Monopoly, Checkers, Backgammon, and Risk, but we also have games that you have never heard of and those that you might have always wanted to try out. This is because the curatorship of the place is great and they are always looking for the biggest and newest games, in addition to differentiated, independent games. Customers also help in selecting new games, which include cards, boards, team games or those with only one winner at the end. Oh, and for those who are a fan of Magic: there are special events promoted by the place – just check the calendarOn top of all this, you can also buy games at The Uncommons.

Address: 230 Thompson Street – from 8:30AM to midnight on weekdays, 1AM on weekends, and 11PM on Sundays.
